MassLive: “Northampton mayoral debate grows testy” (10/17/11)
“The working middle class is feeling increasingly alienated, ignored and dismissed,” [Bardsley] said, comparing the situation to the union-busting in Wisconsin and the discontent in the Occupy Wall Street movement. “I’m concerned that this community is heading towards being an elitist community.”

Narkewicz used his opening remarks to recount his resume as a child of a working-class family who enlisted in the Air Force and earned his political stripes as a congressional aide. He became more aggressive as the debate wore on, however, positioning himself as the positive candidate who will bring people together.
