Jacobs is hesitant to take a position on the landfill, over concerns that she might have to recuse herself from voting at a later date. No matter what decision is made, recycling numbers have to go up, she said. As for the budget, she would keep a careful eye on expenditures….

Tacy’s decision to run for office boils down to two council decisions – allowing the development of a downtown hotel and the creation of the business improvement district. Tacy believes both decisions are not in the city’s best interest, and argues that the process by which they were approved was flawed…

Tacy is against the possible expansion of the Glendale Road landfill, citing environmental and health risks to future generations. Whether or not the landfill closes, Tacy said he will push for better city recycling and the exploration of curbside pickup.
