Residence for Homeless Seeks Donations of Furnishings and Household Goods

It’s our pleasure to publicize this appeal…

Furnishings needed:

The Friends of Hampshire County Homeless Individuals purchased a duplex this summer consisting of two apartments to serve as permanent residence for six formerly homeless people. The purchase was made possible by a generous grant from the Community Preservation Committee.

Residents will be provided with supportive services by ServiceNet, the agency that will own and maintain the building. This is truly a community project. We are in the process of furnishing the apartments and welcome donations of the following: armchairs, sofas, bedside tables, chairs, lamps, bed linen, towels, kitchen utensils, pots & pans, and small mirrors (we have enough coffee makers, glasses and mugs). We also need a TV table, and either one large wardrobe or two smaller ones. Cash donations towards purchasing six new mattresses and mattress pads also are welcome.

If you are willing to donate any of the above please email cotshelter@gmail.com giving your name, phone number, address and description of items to be donated; or call Rick at 413-320-1886. Arrangements will be made either for pick-up or for place and time of delivery as convenient. All donations are tax-deductible. We are once again grateful for the great community support we receive.
