The North Street Neighborhood Association invites the public to a HUGE Neighborhood Tag Sale & Bake Sale on Saturday, September 29, 9am-1pm. This sale will raise funds for the association. Come to North Street between Market Street and Northern Avenue. Download a flyer for this event (PDF). (In case of rain, the date will change to September 30.)
Item donations and volunteers are needed right now. See the flyer for details. Meet your neighbors. Buy what you need (or want!) at a great price. Learn more about the efforts of the North Street association to maintain the health, safety and beauty of our neighborhood.
Action Needed Before the Sale: The association is opposed to the proposed wetlands ordinance, which will encourage developers to build as close as 10 feet to wetlands in neighborhoods like ours. This will increase our risk of flooding, contribute to water pollution, and make our neighborhoods hotter and uglier.
A large part of the woods bordering the wetland behind North Street is in imminent danger of being paved over with 25+ condos, plus new roads and parking spaces. The proposed wetlands ordinance comes before the City Council on September 20. Contact Ward 3 City Councilor Marilyn Richards today at 586-2519, jonmar2@comcast.net, and ask her to vote No on this ordinance.
