Census Bureau Is Hiring for Local Jobs

We are publishing this announcement at the request of Daryl LaFleur:

Public Service Announcement:

The U. S. Census Bureau is currently hiring census takers for the 2010 Census. The temporary, part-time positions offer good pay, flexible hours up to 40 hours a week and the chance to work near home.

Census takers work in their communities locating households, explaining the purpose of the census and conducting personal interviews with respondents who fail to return their 2010 Census questionnaire.

Census takers must be at least 18 years of age and in most cases, a valid driver’s license and use of a vehicle are required.

The thirty-minute employment test consists of multiple-choice questions measuring knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform a variety of census jobs.

Pre-registration for the test is strongly encouraged.

Call toll free at 1-866-861-2010 to register and for more information on testing dates and times at Forbes Library, the Senior Center and the Franklin Hampshire Career Center in Northampton.

For an application and sample test visit http://www.2010censusjobs.gov.
